Darren Hill
Co-Founder, Managing Director
Mining | Real Estate | Finance | Innovation
Darren has had experience in a range of fields. He began his career in the mining industry, working closely with mining engineers and project managers. During this time he was responsible for a range of tasks, including overseeing fleet rebuilds, and the commissioning of dump trucks, dozers, wheel loaders, and water carts for a range of mines. After this time, Darren owned and operated a real estate office for more than 15 years, which specialised in commercial and industrial sales, management, and development, before moving into finance.

With more than 25 years of experience working within the international and insurance markets, Jon is our expert in insurance and partnerships. He began his insurance career as a filing and photocopying boy, subsequently working his way up the ranks, and acquiring beneficial insights at every level of the industry. Following this, he spent 10 years at Cooper Gay, becoming the managing director of Cooper Gay Australia, where he managed the growth of the business for four years.

Simon Cohn

Simon draws on a wealth of leadership, professionalism, passion and knowledge built up over 25 years’ experience in the natural resources sector.
A dynamic and astute mining executive, from 2011 Simon was Managing Director at MEC Mining, and took on the role of Non-Executive Director in 2017.
In 2017 Simon co-founded Ortus Mining Capital - a privately held Singapore company focused on acquiring and developing mining projects, subsequently co-founding Mining Projects Accelerator Pty Ltd in 2018, successfully developing and commercialising exploration assets in Australia.
Simon is also director and advisor to several businesses across the mining, exploration and technology sectors.
